Alice & Me!
Since 2008, we have been honored to partner with Urban Gateways to bring touring shows to Chicago area schools and libraries. This year, we are pleased to present a brand new version of our 2009 tour, Alice & Me! Newly adapted by Jack Novak, Alice & Me! is an interactive re-imagining of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland that puts the students right in Alice’s shoes as she meets the Cheshire Cat, the White Knight, the Red Queen, and other Wonderland favorites. Oh, and did we mention there’s a lobster dance party? Perfect for pre-K through sixth grade.

Choose Thine Own Adventure
It’s one part Shakespeare, one part 1980s adventure novel. Ensemble member Allison Powell takes excerpts of everything from Othello to Taming of the Shrew to create an all new choose-it-yourself Shakespeare adventure. It’s just the way the Groundlings would have wanted it. To be or not to be? You decide! Recommend for high school and up.

Arlecchino’s Odyssey
Rooted in the rich tradition of commedia dell’arte, The Odyssey of Arlecchino is a carnivalesque journey of one man to find himself amid the trials, tribulations and tricks of the world. Arlecchino has traveled across Europe to arrive here in Chicago to share his topsy-turvy story in a style governed only by the rules of Looney Toons. This Filament original recently returned from a successful East Coast tour. We offer two versions of Arlecchino’s Odyssey, one for younger audiences and one for adult audiences.

Six Impossible Things
Defy the limits of possibility with three of literature’s best-loved heroines in this new adaptation devised by the Filament Theatre Ensemble. Six Impossible Things follows the experiences of Dorothy, Alice, and Wendy on their journeys to fantastical lands and helps us understand that in order to fly all you have to do is “wiggle your shoulders and let go.” A Filament favorite since 2007, Six Impossible Things has been enjoyed by thousands of students from Chicago to Connecticut. Recommended for pre-K through fourth grade.

Three professional Filament storytellers will craft stories based on your audience demographic and occasion. Intimate, warm, and perfectly suited to any occasion, our stories are a wonderful way to provide personalized entertainment for your gathering. Perfect for all ages and occasions!

Custom Theatre Performances

The Filament Theatre Ensemble will gladly create a one-of-a-kind show just for your event. We meet with you one-on-one to plan and review specific topics, stories, or themes that relate to your group. Our custom shows are tremendously successful because of the personal consideration given to the specific event and the audience. If you are interested in booking a custom show, please contact us no later than four weeks before your event to allow ample time to meet with you, discuss your needs, create and rehearse the piece!
